Ashley and I both attend Ottawa University where my mom and norm graduated from. My degree is Elementary Education and Ashley is doing a dual major in Business Administration/Management, he will be graduating in about 8 months . We really love this school it is very personal one-on-one, I have 6 students in one class and 8 in another. The classes here are 8 week courses so we can graduate earlier and the classes are at night which works out perfect for Ashley's work schedule and my life with the kids. The teachers here have many years of experience and we really learn what to do in the workforce. Well I can't say enough about Ottawa, but just wanted to give an update for those who didn't know :)
2 nights ago I had the opportunity to listen to the Relief Society Broadcast of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Relief Society as an organization has always had the responsibility to organize the energies of the sisters in the wards and branches of Zion. Through Relief Society meetings, the ministry of visiting teachers, and their combined service, daughters of God are taught, watched over, and inspired in their responsibility in the Lord’s work and kingdom. I am grateful to be apart of this beautiful program as women work together to strengthen their families and the world in faith. I know that I am a daughter of God. I know that he loves me and is my friend. I know that his true church was restored on the earth again in these last days. We have a prophet called of God and he leads and teaches us. In the broadcast the Prophet taught us the importance of not judging others and having Charity. He states: I consider charity—or the “pure love of Christ”—to be the opposite of criticism and judging. In speaking of charity, I do not at this moment have in mind the relief of the suffering through the giving of our substance. That, of course, is necessary and proper. Tonight, however, I have in mind the charity that manifests itself when we are tolerant of others and lenient toward their actions; the kind of charity that forgives; the kind of charity that is patient. Our family went to Payson this weekend for Jayden's first camping trip. We had so much fun and Lauren loved exploring. There was just one problem- all the rain! Right when we got there it was pouring so me and Ashley set up the tent in the rain while taking turns watching the kids in the car. Then when we finished it stopped raining, it would then sprinkle on and off so it was really nice. Around 8 that night it starting raining again but a lot worse and the wind was blowing like crazy. Rain starting coming in the tent and I could not stay there and let my kids get sick so sweet Ashley loaded everything in the car and was drenched. By the time me and the kids got in the car we said to eachother - just leave the tent- so we did :) We look at this trip as a memory and one we will definatly remember!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while we had problems with the camera. Lauren is two now and her attitude shows it! Here are some pictures of Lauren and her best friend Bou. Lauren is a sweet girl and loves her little brother. She has such a fun personality and she always makes us laugh.
Friday night around 12:30 I started feeling contractions so I called up my awsome sister Rachel to come over in the middle of the night to watch Lauren. Me and Ashley got to the hospital around 1:00 and everything went great from there. I had Jayden at 4:51am on April 10th, he weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. and he was 20 in. long. We are so happy he is apart of our family now and love him so much! *more pics to come*
